My great friend Tamara read an article on a book called "Not Quite what I was Planning" - a collection of people's six word memoirs. Inspired by the article she wrote her six word memoir, which was beautiful and eloquent just as she is. At the end she extended a six word challenge for anyone who was up for it.
I thought it was a very interesting idea. Putting your life down in six words didn't seem like an easy task. I decided to give it a little thought and being the cynic that I am originally came up with, "Lost: Searching for self amongst laundry!" Ok, I realize the chaos of your life doesn't represent your life. It's just a constant that keeps you humble.
I decided to leave the cynic behind and think about what six words express who I am and what my life is all about. While thinking, I remembered this quote that I love and pulled it out. It reads, " To love and to be loved is the greatest happiness of existence." I love this quote because it reminds me what is truely essential. After a little deliberation this is what I decided best fits.
"Found: Beautiful life filled with love."
I realize it's pretty ordinary and could fit anyone, but it is ultimately what really matters. I feel very fortunate to have so much love in my life. I am surrounded by a wonderful family, friends and a gospel that makes my life complete. This was a fun challenge and I extend the offer to anyone to find their six word memoir. Good Luck!
