A day at the zoo

It was a warm, beautiful and packed day at the zoo this past Tuesday! Everyone must have had the same idea we did because I think all of denver made pb&j's and headed to the zoo with their kids in tow. The kids had a great time with their cousins and friends. I was just happy we didn't lose anyone.

Happy Easter!

Easter was great this year. We decorated Easter eggs on Saturday and went to Kara and Rob's for Easter dinner. The cousins had so much fun playing Easter games and running around. I took 20 pictures of the boys and all of them turned out the same....crazy! The twins love spending time with their cousins. It was a fun evening.

Six Word Memoir

My great friend Tamara read an article on a book called "Not Quite what I was Planning" - a collection of people's six word memoirs. Inspired by the article she wrote her six word memoir, which was beautiful and eloquent just as she is. At the end she extended a six word challenge for anyone who was up for it.

I thought it was a very interesting idea. Putting your life down in six words didn't seem like an easy task. I decided to give it a little thought and being the cynic that I am originally came up with, "Lost: Searching for self amongst laundry!" Ok, I realize the chaos of your life doesn't represent your life. It's just a constant that keeps you humble.

I decided to leave the cynic behind and think about what six words express who I am and what my life is all about. While thinking, I remembered this quote that I love and pulled it out. It reads, " To love and to be loved is the greatest happiness of existence." I love this quote because it reminds me what is truely essential. After a little deliberation this is what I decided best fits.

"Found: Beautiful life filled with love."

I realize it's pretty ordinary and could fit anyone, but it is ultimately what really matters. I feel very fortunate to have so much love in my life. I am surrounded by a wonderful family, friends and a gospel that makes my life complete. This was a fun challenge and I extend the offer to anyone to find their six word memoir. Good Luck!

What happens when you're not watching

We've all had those moments (I'm hoping) where you're busy doing dishes, bills, etc. and you're watching your kids with only your ears. I had a few of these moments this past week that ended with some creative outcomes. First, while I was in the shower, the twins decided to put on their swimsuits and get into all the old winter stuff and put it on. It was a mess, but hilarious!

Later in the week, I was in the kitchen when all of a sudden Soren comes blazing down the stairs into the kitchen....on a sled. Yes, you read correctly..a sled. My son is a daredevil, we still haven't figured out where he gets it. We've ok'd it as long as he has his helmet on. No bones have yet to be broken and it has made for some great fun for the kids!

Ballet and swimming

Here is London with her friends Madison and Tyler at ballet. Soren had to sneak into the pictures with the cuties. Honestly, they weren't into taking a picture until I told them to make funny faces. Then they lit up! You can see the before and after for yourself. Sad to say, the bottom picture is a very lame picture of Soren at swim lessons. It was the only one I could get. I swear the kid doesn't come up for air!
