London made this little meal for me the other morning. Both sides of the sandwich had heart cut outs. It was very sweet. A cheese sandwich and carrots never tasted so good at 8:30 in the morning.
Niles' grandpa Mose was a real cowboy. When he passed away Niles received his old rancher's hat. This weekend Niles' pulled it out during some much needed basement reorganizing and gave it to Soren. If we had known what a hit it was going to be, we would have wrapped it up and given it to him for Christmas.
This year I was too lazy and didn't make the kids their usual Valentine treat basket; luckily, we were able to improvise. We now have a new yearly Valentine's treat: Krispy Kreme. We found out they make special heart-shaped doughnuts for Valentine's Day, so we grabbed the kids and hauled down there for a Saturday morning surprise. You would have thought that we had taken them to Willy Wonka's factory. Fortunately, they were both perfect Charlies - they didn't even notice that everyone else was getting a box or boxes of doughnuts, and they only got one each. They loved it. Goal achieved.
This guy is what makes Valentine's Day great. After 10 years together, I still get excited to see him at the end of the day. He has innumerable qualities that make him easy to love and admire. I love you Niles. Happy Valentines Day!
This past weekend we went to Niles favorite place for family night.....Barnes & Noble. We went to the kids section and let the twins pick a book to buy. Lovey was in heaven, it was hilarious to see her running back and forth looking at books. Niles was very proud. Soren was a different story altogether, he picked a book in 2 seconds flat and then spent the remainder of the time playing with the train set or hurdling the step stools. We went and read the books with some cookies and hot chocolate. It was a great night.
