To Cut or Not Cut

My son's hair is my daily nemesis. I grew his hair out in hopes that he would look like those cute little surfer California boys.... I'm not so sure that it's working out for him. It looks cute for about ten minutes after I do it and then I'm affraid he looks homeless the rest of the time. Some people think it's cute and others think it's not so cute. I can't decide. He inherited both Niles and my calics, one in front and one in back...this is once again a problem. So, I am turning to my blogger friends to decide for me. Do I cut it or leave it status quo. Those of you who've seen him are now free to give me your anonymous opinions.

I think he needs a trim. I don't think it looks terrible, but maybe a hair stylist could help you achieve the California boy look.

I like it longer...I was looking through other pictures and most of the time it doesn't look so "homeless". But that may be because it's within 10 minutes of styling. I definitely like it brushed forward more than parted. Maybe just a little shorter? But not really short. Of course, I haven't seen him in person in ages...so this is all based on blogged pictures :)

So I love Soren regardless of his hair... the kid's adorable! However, I think he could use a bit of a trim... maybe just get it shaped up a bit! I tried growing Gage and Jake's hair out and it didn't look fabulous. Gage just looked shaggy and Jake's hair is still too thin and would still stick up even when it was longer! So they'll be short for awhile... I might even buzz it for the hot hot Vegas summer!

I say CUT IT! The kid is going to be miserable this summer if it's that long!

wow, this is turning into quite the debate. i think i've got to put in for the tie at 3 to 3 and vote "long". what can i say--i like scruffy kids (especially this one). and lovey always looks fancy enough for the both of them (except maybe when her face is covered in orangey dorito powder).

He IS adorable no matter what, but I do agree with some kind of style cut.... the question then is, what will it take to maintain it? It would be cute to hear his own opinion of his hair. :)

The main problem is that Brecken was going for that "High School Musical" look. What's that kid's name? The one that all you girls have a crush on, even though he's only like 15 years old? You know what I'm talking about. Don't deny it. Anyway, because of Soren's hellacious front cowlick, that look is not possible for him. What we need is a cool hairstyle that incorporates his hair being parted; because that's what his head keeps insisting on. If only the "floppy-head college boy" look from the 90's were still in style...

Allow the expert a moment. . . I am not sure that the cowlicks are your problem, I think the issue is that his hair isn't bending much which is key to the surfer swoop. The cowlick is most likely helping to keep the hair from hanging directly in the kid's eyes. I say let it grow and see what happens. . . as long as he is well dressed he won't look homeless.
