a day at the zoo

We went on a family trip to the zoo this weekend. We packed...yes, the ever present PB&J's and were off. Lovey was the self proclaimed designated tour guide. She got a zoo map at the entrance and was perusing the map and pretending to guide us the whole time. It was hilarious. Soren was happy to simply sit on his wagon thrown and snack on everything in the cooler. It was a great day with our kids.

Once again...not watching my kids!

Once again.... I was downstairs and the twins were upstairs. Stealthily they emerged with guilty faces. They had decided to play beauty salon with some old lipgloss under my bathroom sink. Lovey did a great faux hawk with Soren's hair and Lovey's arms, chest and face were covered in the lipgloss. Note to any moms reading this: lipgloss works as a great hair gel.

Girls Trip 2008!

I have a group of great friends from a ward I was in 4 years ago. Every year we go on a girls trip somewhere. This year we went to Southern California (Newport area). It was so much fun. We all get along so well and really love to spend time together. First and for most....we slept in. Sadly, that is 8:30 for most of us. We went to the beach(and yes, just layed out), shopped, ate lots of yummy food, went to the movies every night, went to the gym and ate lots of chocolate. The only thing that would have made it better were the girls who couldn't make it this year. We missed you all! No excuses for not coming in 2009! Thanks Marilee for organizing everything.
On the Last night I went out to dinner with my cousins, Aunt and Grandma. It was great to see everyone and to catch up. It was a wonderful time in California. I can't wait to go back.

Lake Powell!

This past week we had our sort of annual trip to Lake Powelll with some of our best friends. It was a fabulous time. We had a bit of trouble getting there...the Jones SUV broke down and we spent an hour in Grand Junction figuring out where to eat! We ended up at the very high end Grand junction mall food court....I don't reccomend it. Anyway, we got to Lake Powell and enjoyed every minute of it. We hiked, wakeboarded, waterskiied, ate way too much junk food and played games every free minute. We played this game called OInk Piggy, Oink.....lets just say it's probably only funny if you're exhausted and high on sugar. During the down time at night, Niles showed the guys some jiu jitsu moves. It was a little disconcerting to see two men sitting that way together. Every second of the trip was great! Thanks MIke and Debbie for having a house boat and getting us all together for so much fun. You guys are the best. We can't wait for next year and hopefully the Lyons and Klomps will be back in action for another Lake Powell experience.
